Hello All,

I am glad that with my new job I can have a four day weekend. I work Tuesday to Thursday. That way my sense of having achieved something is increased over the weekends. You know, more time to go for a drive and pick up illicit Land Rover parts and bring them home and get other hobby related activities completed before the weekend all too rapidly ends.

Today, I figured I would track down some bits and pieces and fix the odd little item up that has been put off by my not being employed for a while. Unemployment understandably equates to plenty of time and zero dollars. Today, I went about completing a couple of simple tasks that should have been really easy to achieve. Well, today seems to have been one of those that straight forward jobs are completed but they don't quite get to be of sufficient quality that I feel satisfied at completing the job properly. For example, I wanted to keep the genuine Land Rover mirror head so I just bought a replacement mirror arm for Snowy my 110 Defender ute. The nylon part the firms up the connection between the mirror arm ball and the mirror must have been a bit worn. I ran out of thread before the bolt made the mirror head tight enough to resist vibrations and wind. Hence a lack of satisfaction because I will have to return to complete the task on a different day.

One of Snowy's front axle hub caps fell off years ago. The remaining one is munted and just has enough remnants hanging on to recognise the outline of its shape. Snowy is a January 1993 build. Apparently there is a 1993 transition in shapes and part numbers between Axle Hub Cap to 1993 FRC4377 From 1993 on FTC5414. From the remnants I took an estimate and ordered FRC4377. Time will tell if this guess was correct.

The base plate of my 'still a damn fine piece of equipment' apparently now classed as a 'vintage' Hitachi M12V router that just needs a replacement base plate has that part described as "no longer available".

Well, tomorrow is another day of my weekend. One more day to get some success achieved before my weekend finishes and another week of work rolls around. My weekend currently ranks as a "Meh!"

I hope that you can put your head on your respective pillows and recount what a great weekend it has been for you.

Kind regards
Lionel
