BTW, I got a Honda Jazz courtesy car from the service place a while back - now THAT got some funny looks when I forgot and went on merrily waving at other Defender drivers like a fool.

My girlfriend is new to this landie wave thing and a few times she waved at old Toyota cruisers! We drive around a lot in the s3 game over weekends all over the Central Coast and love this landie wave thing when we see defender or series owners on the road. I quietly explained to her "THAT is not a land rover my dear" and Land Rover owners do not wave to toyota drivers...

Can't tell the difference between a Landie and a yota. Dump her now or get her some re education.

Don't worry my three year old is the same, and shouts out Land Rover, Dad to every 4wd we see.

Doing a few hunded kilos in one day all over the coast in the S3 is punishment enough mate. As you know these cars were not made for comfortable driving.

Naturally she loves the discovery and wants us to take that but I prefer the S3 of course. She has joked a few times that I should sell it but I replied that nobody could have a big enough cheque to buy it. Doesnt matter what they offer Its not for sale EVER.. It would be like selling a kid or a dog or something, these things grow on you in a big way.
