I am at Kilkivan. Supposed to be the epicentre. I was in the shed when everything started moving and rattling. Went out side to see what was going on. Nothing , so realised what it was. Had not experienced one since I was in PNG. One of my jobs was to keep the ink filled to the pen and change the paper rolls on the "Guria Machine"
Earthquake, Orly callim Guria. Tok Pisin.

Not me either, the epicentre was near Murgon and seems to have been the strongest recorded in Qld. Although on the 6pm news they said Kilkivan.

I wonder what the highest Magnitude will be, according to media, by tonight!

We had no discernable movement, only a deep rumbling sound.

The 'quake centred near Mt Samson, a few years ag, was a different matter.

A couple of years ago, we had a bo peep into the volcano monitoring centre in Rabaul. Interesting place. I'm assuming the methodology would be similar?

Have the tsunami warnings sounded on Lake Moogerah?

Gotta admit, when I lived below Somerset Dam I might have been a tad concerned. 😱 We were on the river bank below the outflow.

I'm sure that the dam authorities would put out a dam warning for all dam vicinity residents.

I was at Booubyjan north of Goomeri, I didn't notice the ground shake, but heard a rumbling sound something like a cross between thunder and fighter jet, then I am sure I felt shock air waves. Dogs and horses were going mental.

    Cheers,
    Mick.
