Assuming that it is and you do the necessary repairs, your next step is the roadworthy. And for that you need the appropriately licensed person. Anything they pick will probably be minor.
You do not need a roadworthy on Qld unless selling or first registration.
I would go British Offroad as they are right on the highway and one would hope a rental car place nearby like in Buderim or nearby which should be a cheap Uber. They would only need a couple of days to inspect and fix minor stuff like bushes etc.

There is a train from Nambour to Bundaberg twice daily.

I'm pretty sure a Roadworthy is necessary to re-register a pre-registered vehicle with lapsed rego, in Qld.

It is, which is why Lionel wants it pre-inspected.

Sory but he didn't say that in his post. I don't know but a roadworthy would probably be necessary seeing that my Vitara needed one even though registered in my name in NSW.
    Regards PhilipA.
AND it cost $50+ in 2004 when a RWC in NSW cost $24.

There used to be Andersons Land Rover in Hervey Bay on Boat Harbour Dr that shut up shop a few years ago and moved to somewhere in Toogoom (20min north of the bay) Must just be word of mouth these days cause I can't seem to find him anywhere. You could try his old mobile number and see if he is still in the biz. 0412 840 071

Maybe you could call these guys. I haven't had any dealings with them so can't comment on them.
