Great vehicles, I very nearly bought one recently to put into my project 4wd queue. You can still buy a brand new motor for about $4500 too! I've no doubt yours will still be giving you lots of fun in another 32 years!

I can relate to that, the tyre that I had about 400mm piece of tread fly off on the farm tracks was an RTM look a like.
A Yokohama Multi Commercial dated, drum roll ........ 38th week of 1982 ( YYY 382 with no little triangle at the end of the oval denoting 1990's ) Correct me if I'm wrong.
As to my quest it is not looking real good.
Four RTM copies are still produced in various countries but only in 7.50x16 and none of them imported into Australia
Yeah, sadly the Dunlop RTM's look to be gone.
Apparently there are four copies still being produced but only in 7.50x16 and not imported into Australia.

Speaking of tyres, this is the tyre I'm trying to get. It seems they're still available in Malaysia, so I've got no idea on how to get a set into Australia. These are the same as whats on my IIa ute in 7.50-16. They may be of interest as well, they're available in 7.0-16 too. I've contacted Tempe Tyres and Goodyear Australia to see if they can help, but I am not optimistic.

We're on the same track here Slunnie, I found these similar tyres from Deli in Indonesia in 7.00x16. 10,12 and 14 ply. Local Tyre Power can get Deli in but they checked and these aren't even on the system.
I'm waiting on some reply emails to see if I can find someone that imports them. Like you I have no idea how to import them.
There seems to be a few variants but all in 7.50x16. Surely there is a reasonable market for 7.00 , 6.50 and 6.00 for Suzuki's
Ol' mate with the bar treads reckons he sells heaps in those sizes.

Slunnie, are you after 7.50 or 7.00?
Those Goodyear's look the part as do Deestone D506. Both more so than Deli SK-899.
I'm going to stick with 7.00's as I'm the runt of the litter and I'm getting older so swapping my highway wheels over to 7.50's and swapping them back a week later to travel home will kill me more than the 7.00's do. The bigger 7.50 wheels are a lot harder for me to handle even if they do fit my Hilux.
So far I have sent 5 or 6 email enquiries away and have had zero responses.
Funny thing though, I called into a local tyre shop and they said another guy came in a few days prior asking for just the same thing as I was asking.
So far the only option I have is the military pattern bar treads in 7.00
The Boulder.....is that Usa?
I see on Ebay there is a seller in the USA for Deestone D506 which is similar to the Goodyear's. They send to Australia going by the listing, understandably at a hefty cost. I really don't know how that would work and the cost blows it up anyway. Maybe importing them is possible somehow.
Thanks for this, I suspect the Deestone D506 might be the go. I'm not sure what its speed rating is, but if this is ok then it may be the only realistic option.
