On Saturday 20 km of Planned Burned Taskforce crew and Local CFA worked very fast. One or two crook bits. A traffic control person was assaulted by a V.I.P. who wanted to drive through flames and zero visibility from very Thick smoke! Hope vicpol and courts do some stomping. Three over 30 year old fire appliances? One a ultra light I was using wasn't to bad. Except seat belts didn't work and got jammed in doors often. Who would think fire-fighters get in and out often? Two fire tankers didn't. One Retired with mechanical issues. The other electrical faults stopped radios and without communication it was not fantastic! Apparently the fully funded claims include hundreds of millions of emergency funding for major emergency including aircraft and paid workers not CFA Volunteers. I smell a rat? I did stick of smoke and fire after a every productive day of prevention.


While this seems grumpy let me add - On the bright side plus I rang my Aunt who did the catering for my very young self while my uncles, cousins and other locals burnt roadside fire breaks in the Western Districts prior to my wet days. Her food and "Tang" was appreciated. Tang by the way was only every seen at that farm not my place! I loved it

My youthful burns had walkers setting the fires at about 5km per hour. Yesterday four quad bikes with fuel tanks dripped the fire at 10Kph behind four tankers wetting down the fence line, trees and other important stuff. Two takers to replace them as the 5000ish litre tanks needed refills. Two tankers behind and this black duck was in the fast mover ducking here or there as needed.

Does both sides of the road burnt mean it was 40km? Could it be my fav distance of 42.2
