Bono-great music, coool, and great philosophy on life
pat rafter-man who has the capacity to tap into his maximum potential despite not being brilliantly gifted-at least on the court
john howard-man who has capacity to tap into his minimum potential despite being quite intelligent

This should make for some great conversation over a few fine reds.

Hmmm, I would have had Steve Irwin and Ayrton Senna in that list, both highly inspirational.

    1. Vic Widman a legend that has been there and seen that in Australia. A great conversationalist also.
    2. Valentino Rossi. A great rider, inspirational and a great sense of humour
    3. Tim Allen. He's just a really funny bastard that could mesh into any conversation about anything and turn it all upsidedown.
    Cheers

George W Bush, if he choked I'm sure I'd forget all my first aid training
Osama Bin Laden would be nice to share a coversation with someone who approved of my decision not to give first aid to George W.
The Sting ray that killed Steve Irwin, It's always good to hear the other side of the story.

How could it possibly be narrowed down to only 3 people

Another question "who picks up the bill at the end of the night"

How about the top 3 executives from the Land Rover Special Vehicles Branch

Ashley Judd (it would be nice to just sit back and look)

and Ned Kelly ( because they wouldn't know who the hell he was)
    Paul.

Can we call on re-incarnation? If so:-

Gough Whitlam- the greatest living Australian
Smokey Yunick- for his endearing attitude to rule makers
(and wouldn't they give each other the s--ts)
either Fred Offenhauser, Leo Goosen, or Dale Drake, for their individual commitment to quality product, engineering excellence, and customer service.

'Tis a pity it's limited to the living, otherwise:

Capt. James Cook - To show him a tad more of the country
Capt. Arthur Phillip - I'd love him to see what he started and to discuss those early days.

But who to have as the 3rd? A modern politician? Howard? A dead pollie - Menzies?

I think Len Beadell - a "modern" explorer!

I'd really like a few more dinner parties!

What about Capt. Bligh and Fletcher Christian for the real story of the Mutiny on the Bounty? (I lived on Norfolk Island for 3 years.)

Whilst typing this I was thinking who are the men I admire the most and this the line from the song American Pie came to mind!):

"And the three men I admire most
The Father, Son and the Holy Ghost
    "

You could save money and invite Jesus Christ alone and there's your three!

I'm not religious, but if there was a J.C., then I think he'd be an interesting guest.
