To quote Unca Inc himself,"wait till ya hear the whining at the pumps!"

Go for it Dave ,ya wont regret it,Thumper may be a little thirsty, had a run down the coast yesterday ,returned approx. 7 K's / litre, that works out at about 560 K's /tank if 80 ltr tank(?),not sure how to rework those figures to ltr /100k,but tis a damm site more comfy to ride in than Moby(may she freeze her backside off in S.A),and i think i may have picked up a style of thinking from someone else in here ,in that they are cheep enough ,so just run it ,have fun with it,then when its stuffed ,get another and start again, keeping the old one for spares of course!!!!!

    this one is pretty special....

from the pics i just saw of it, it is in concourse condiition, not even a scuff mark on the door plates...

the price is out there tho... i have to screw them down a bit to be able to afford it..

    we will see...

mother isnt impressed but i have played that game before...

i dont need to drive the kilometers i had to a year or so ago so it becomes a more affordable propersition.

it is still pie in the sky stuff....

BTW there is one down the road from me for 2.5k on gas if anyone is interested.

Inc, is the one for $2.5K the same vintage and it any good from a 'passing' observation.

Not in the market but always got my eye out for 'another' project, especially one on LPG is a bonus . At least all my maxi's wil fit the next Rangie of similar vintage. Probably take my LT230 with me as well.

Nothing but there 'tempremental' EFI system and many I have driven or know of don't run properly, run too rich or lean and unless you know you're **** you could be in for a headache. My 87 is spot-on and doesn't play up (bought the engine as a replacment off jessie-xa to replace the crapped out one in it originally). Only complaint is that it runs hell rich when cold but they all do as the cold start injector kicks in.

The 91's are a great buy for around the $5-6K mark, 3.9 with the Hotwire EFI system (more reliable and less tempremental) but really much the same as the 89. Later in 91 they moved the filler up to the top RH guard but that'd really it.

Confused now? really if the 89 you're keen on is good and you feel that it might be worth the extra $$$ over a average priced example, you can't really go wrong.

    Good luck with it.

My 88 runs rich on cold start and the extra injector is unplugged! I can't imagine what the conditions would be like where you would actually need it.

it looks okay, and he used to fly past me so it was a good goer....

i have only gone past at 70kph since it went up for sale, but it looks fine.

i'd say it ran out of reg so he parked it. he used to have a spares truck out the back as well....

i will stop in and have a better look if you want...
