Hi Folks,
I have had a nightmare experience ordering a D3 through my company lease plan...
Firstly, I submitted the paperwork to the leasing company at the end of June. On July 2, we received a note saying we are changing leasing companies. <sigh> Then, I hear nothing from the lease company for 2 weeks. After I queried, they said they never received the paperwork!
Ok, second set of paperwork sent in mid-July - rushed through approval by the leasing company. Dealer confirmed that my car is on order and to expect delivery in late October. All looking good at that time, however...
In August - received a note from my company car plan administrator, that the previous lease company doesn't want to continue with the deal - and I have to start again from the begining with the new lease company!
Well, after going through the 12 steps for a new lease, it is now September and I finally got confirmation that my new lease has been finalised and delivery date is 30/11/2006. What an ordeal!
I could have taken a model in stock at the moment and had delivery sooner - but I wanted one with a rear diff lock, side protection bars, tow pack and rear A/C... none with those features in stock.
I am not sure I would go through this leasing process again.
Sorry for venting - I feel better now!![]()

Folks - thanks for all the kind wishes!
Rangieman: I am getting the TDV6 for two reasons - range and torque. I could not justify the extra funds to get armrests, electric seats and upgraded stereo, so getting an SE.
Also getting it in Chawton white - as it is easier to touch up non-metallic paints after getting a few scratches.
Anyhow - thanks again for all the kind wishes.
Lucky man you will be very happy with the new purshase when it arrives.
If you are taking it off road you will be set with the configaration you have ordered.
Enjoy the D3 is an awsome 4x4 straight from the showroom.
Well done Robert!
I got white for the same reason, but you'll be surprised how resilient the paint job is. I've got scratches in the plastic that stop at the panels.
The TDV6 is superb!![]()
