Landy drivers are a bit toffee nosed - RR will only wave to RR but only if it looks like both cars have some offroad gear on them, Series Drivers wave to all other series drivers and to some defenders - defenders wave to all proper landys, discos are a bit like RR , wave only to offroad landies but only if the disco is an offroad vehicle - and no one waves to Freelanders - even when I wave to Landy drivers - I can see the expression on their faces which says - who is that poofy, poncy, latte drinking, driver waving at and I don't even drink latte and am not a gay bar loiterer.

I still wave anyway but no landy has ever waved back

    Gazzz

Oh - PS and Freelanders don't wave to each other.

Have you guys sat on the side of a LR highway somewhere to study this? Should I be afraid? I'd wave to LRs...but likely chances are I'd hear curses out the window. But one day...

On the way to work yesterday I got a pleasant surprise....pulled onto the hwy right behind another defender. Got a huge wave as I sped up to go past. They were doing 80k which I find comfortable cruising speed in Gandalf as well but I was running late so wanted to hoof it a bit.

Next defender/County I saw I thought I'd try a different tack.....waved AND flashed lights but no response

Can't win em all but at least the one wave cheered me and restored faith

Not quite, I'll wave to a standard RR, but only if it's old.

    Wave of abuse

Sounds like a Seinfeld episode to me!
I have one fella who used to wave, then only raise the index finger from the wheel...now not so much as a wink. I began giving him the finger. Now he waves both fists!

    Wave

Most of the Defender drivers wave down my way but the Disco drivers just give funny looks

Someone did tell you you have to be wearing flanno when you wave, didn't they? Otherwise you look like some demented socialite with poor eyesight who's flapping at the wrong car.

I dunno... from what my wife tells me she get **lots** of enthusiastic waves. People seem to go wild when they see a woman driving a defender around here LOL
