    electric vehicles

A couple of months ago while doing a search on electric vehicles I came across a sight (do not have the address unfortunatley) from canada that makes kits to convert the chevy S-10 and I a compact car to electric. basiclly it was replacing the petrol motor with an electric motor.
The down side was the top speed I think was 60 miles/hr and a range of 100miles per charge.
I think they would make a great city only car.

    Thank you grizzly-adams

another one to add to my research folio

this is the reason why I keep my X1/9, it will be an ideal donor car for conversion - but while i research, I'm waiting for Li-ion batts to become
serious, which is slowly happening. (This is the key to the EV powertrain, from what I understand).

I guess they will eventually make a hybrid electic-petrol or electric-diesel 4WD. Like the Prius but in a serious 4WD. It would have better economy and might make it unneccesary for a long range tank but then it would be more complex electronically I guess. Plenty of battery power for the fridge though !

Nope. One really needs to run high voltages to keep the current down.
