The poll is flawed, it doesn't include the best beers in OZ (Which I drink):

    Coopers and Little Creatures

OK I will confess I drink lite bear most the time these days. It's rare I drink so usually its a lite or when others are buying what ever they choose to give me. I still have a bottle of unopened single malt from christmas. Half my drinking is done at Ace's BBQ's

    Simple equations:

(Cheapest slab at bottle shop) - (Local Cat pee) = Best Beer!

Local Cat pee = VB, Tooheys, XXXX

Best Australian beer IMHO = Boags Premium

Worst beer I ever tried = Little Creatures!

Carling Black Label .... Windhoek Larger!! yes please ...

Grolsch, my great grandad always had a couple of cases of swing tops ,cold in the cellar, excellent!!. Otherwise Cascade Premium, or if going bush, any decent brew, in cans, thats cold, is the best. A man under pressure needs a refresher!!!!.

My farther in Law has won the Queensland homebrew championships for the last 3 years running and 8 times in total. He makes wine, Larger, Ale and stout. All of it good stuff. So going to the inlaws is always full of drinking . went last wekend and spent most of saturday afternoon in his shed drinking

well dirtydawg used me as the reason for this thread.
at least we all have an opinion on this very important subject.
it doesn't matter what you prefer, we are all winners here.
i actually find all beers good, well all beer is better than water [unless we happen to be stuck without water.]
now to join in to the preference bit,
    crown,
coopers pale ale, [thats the green label]
    boags,
    stout, stout, bring back abbotts!
    and nothing imported,
    except - guinness, leffe, stella.
american beer is 'lite ale' and does not comply with the rules for 'beer'
and if you have to put lemon slices into your beer, it isn't beer, its a trendy way of selling crap to poofters, so that mexican **** , isn't beer, its wee.
unfortunatly, i have grown out of my love for four x, which i had as a kid,
seems that when i finally grew up and was'nt able to pinch it from dad's pallet, it has a different taste, but don't all of us have a change of pallete as we grow older?.
i don't like home brew, although i have tried many and made a bit myself, and they are good to drink, i will not drink them now.
so lets enjoy our beer and have a good time.
for legal reasons - include 'in moderation'

Because the family figured that it is a bloody good beer, so why drop the price, when people continue to pay for it. Keeps the share holders happy as well.

    Humbug,

East / West - both are skewed of centre.

H'mmm, not sure about the beer being national yet. I struggled to get a drop in many a town. Things are getting better though. Once upon a time I had to overload the trailer, now though, I can manage with a reasonable level of redundancy.
