    Sydney Weather

I suppose we should be used to it

    Friday -------- 35+ degrees
    Saturday------ 36.4 degrees
    Sunday------- 21.6 degrees
Monday ------ 16.7 degrees (and now the heaters on again) Still no rain though.

Now pushing for 31/32 on Wednesday with storms before another change.

    It's scary stuff.

The bush around Capertee is a disaster waiting for a spark to happen...the bracken fern is brown and tinder dry.

From what direction come the winds?

Central west is one of the big concern areas for the RFS this year.

I spent four years living out at Bligh Park - near Richmond. The weather used to change from -5 degrees in winter to over 45 degrees in summer. I must admit to being spoilt now up here in Katherine. I'm not missing that Sydney weather, that's for sure.

However, the bushfires are always a constant threat there. I well remember the Christmas fires and what happened, and I also remember how many call-outs we used to get every year. I don't think that it'll ever change though.

The only thing that is changing is that people are building further and further out from the city. And as a result, every fire season that comes and goes, more properties and unfortunately lives are being lost as a result. I wish that people would learn to clear their properties, but most are just too lazy and as a result lose everything.

I hope that you have a reasonable time of it though. I have some good memories of that place, that's for sure.

    Cheers
    Chris
