If thats the vehicle you'll be offroading in Im not surprised that the wife would rather walk...

and since it looks like its kitted out with everything, get yourself a data compatable sat phone and you can still participate in the AULRO forums.....

    I can see it now

Stuck again.....this time at (location) help....

Ron you could always buy some large LR logos for the doors I saw some on ebay in the UK and on the the rear window "Landrover Recovered Vehicle" or " Cruiser with Courtesy" or "Japs didn't attack Oz in42 they were trying to visit Cairns"
I had an 80series for 6 months I found it a capable, reliable. fuel guzzling. heavy P.O.S that was quite small on the inside. sunk in sand like a submarine even if it saw sand you would have to deflate the tyres but the Aircon was great..

I travelled in an 80 for the first time earlier this year doing a property access survey with some council blokes. I was surprised at how small it is inside compared to the 110, and we nearly got stuck on a fallen tree I regularly drive over in the 2a - but the airconditioning was first class, as you say, and it was a stinking hot day.

I can't comment on the cruiser as I have only played once in a 100 series. So all I can say is if it suits your needs and you like and can afford it then why not and enjoy.

    Hi Ron,

I suppose there's an upside to buying it.

Someone has spent a fortune on making it work, lots of gear 'n' stuff...

Once you've done the trip, you can sell it and you'll probably get a fair return, plenty of people out there want 'em...

I noticed earlier it's a non turbo: a bloke up the road has a troopie non turbo and reckons it drinks like there's no tomorrow...

    Cheers, GQ

Hi Ron. I am probably one of the most critical of LR on this site.

However when I say I would not drive anything else I mean it.

    Having said that, why?

What about a TD5 D2 there must be some good ones coming off lease with around 100K's or less that may never have been off road that you could pick up for around $25K or less and you could have fun kitting it up.

Don't want to lose good blokes too the dark side. You can't go

    Regards Adrian

I shall have to collect my thoughts to respond.

There are some things I want to say that shouldn't go on a public forum which is accessible to non-LR owners.

I should never have sold the County.

There's a simple solution to THAT, at a lot less than $30,000 too!
