Yes, you are absolutely right, Brad, and the local LR mechanics say the same thing. It was all set up with long range tank, snorkel, maxi-drive diff, etc.

For those who don't know it, see http://members.optusnet.com.au/thebe...r/rovermod.htm

    Sacrilegious - profanity - blasphemy

The three words that come to mind from anyone who dares to even suggest leaving the flock.

PM your address Ron and I'll have Father Rover come over to your house and preform an exorcism on you, as you obviously have been possessed by an evil Toymota Spirt.

Either that or youv'e been smoking to much Crack again

Ron owning and driving a toymota would be like Jesus wearing Steelcaps, Practical but not friggin likely

Wish I had a dollar for everytime I hear a bloke say, 'I wish I hadn't sold the County', wouldn't be rich, but.... Didn't think there was that many made!, they are a beaut vehicle, once you're broken in, why not look for another Ron, you can be really critical and wait for the right one to show up......

    G'day Ron
I was talking to Inc.today, and he mentioned there is a Rangie for sale in Sydney that has dual lockers etc. for about $6K it might make a good tour vehicle and then you could still have the comfort, it's in the Markets I think.

Ron, you are 60, retired and are hitting the road on your own .. you don't want a boring "watch the paint dry" commuter sedan with big wheels. You need this

The one I had was the right one - except for the V8 instead of the Isuzu diesel. Seriously, it was in pretty good nick. It needed a little bit more work but I was getting there. At the time I couldn't justify having two Land Rovers.

One problem with the County was that my right upper arm ached when driving it. My arm pressed against the door frame and, in cold weather, that metal panel sucked all the warmth out of the arm. Blowed if I know how any could drive one in a cold climate.

The lack of heating in the car (except in summer) and the lack of cooling (except in winter) was a problem, too. I'm used to the very good air con in the P38A.

I'd also like a car that I'm not worried is going fail on me - something that has always been of concern with each of the 3 Rangies and the County.
