    Nice looking bar Baz.

Andrew, by the looks of the photo's from the last Harvey trip, you'll have some bends in yours before you know it!

The recessed light holes are the weak points of the bar.
Don't ask how I know, but when the bar hits something solid (tree), it cracks/bends and then does more damage.

Here's my bar prior to making a reversing error.

The bar cracked and bent at the recess, which then pushed into the body.
The pivot for the swing-away then contacted the tail light lense.

Not sure if a solid bar would have prevented all the damage, but the recessed lights certainly created the weak point.

Are you sure it was not from old age.

Andy the bend was easy, i cut a V with a 4" angle grinder and Phil welded it for me, the angle is only 7% makes the bar look a bit better.

The bar your making still looks good, should look even better after it's painted
    Cheers Baz.

Looks good, discodave and i are going to give the sliders a crack later in december and then give the rear bar a go after that. Fingers crossed, we need to learn how to weld first. Matt

Matt, spend the cash and get an auto-dimming mask. When I was teaching myself to weld, I got one and then I stopped welding myself to things.

This is what the Pajero lights look like when in.

These are the holes for the Pajero lights, if you try to fit the standard Disco lights you'll need to make a large access hole in the back to either replace bulbs or get to the release the holding clips.

The LEDs would be the easiest as they are slim and wouldn't stick out that much.

Baz, did you use C channel for the bar ? if so what size was it, might knock one up for my disco and add a couple of swingaway points as well.

    thanks,
    nick.
