Nope... Ignition on is not a good idea...
Accessories is fine, but "ON" is not.
Hi all,
Heading to Moretone at the end of the month. I have not rigged a deep cycle bat yet. Is it ok to leave the ignition on to keep my fridge running for the hour barge and the steroeo at camp. i never used to in my suzzy because i was told it would burn the points out.
Thanks

well nothings that easy Hiline mate. so just the first click the acc is ok i understand it will drain the bat but is that all. no damage to the fenndy thanks guys
just the first click will be fine for the trip over, its only an hour so you won't have any problem, the fridge motor will run for much less than an hour, even if it drew 5 amp an hour that only around 2-3 amps out of you battery, the disco will still fire upOriginally Posted by fatcat
Excuse my ignorance, why why not ignition ON on a diesel? The glow plugs will time out, so what's the issue? Or is it an issue with TD5s electrickery?
My ignorance also, depending whats actually on, why?Originally Posted by Michael2

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.
ignition on runs all the electrickery.....ecu...fuel pump.....sensors.....fans....etc....etc.....
the battery will not last too long with all the drain on it......
