    D3's for sale

Was just searching carsales and thought i'd see what secondhand D3's were selling for, and most of them are the 4.0L petrol 6's, is there something wrong with them? Or are people just realising the petrol 6 is rather sluggish and/or are they pretty thirsty? matt

I think the thirs vs the v8 puts a lot of people off. But also I think many are from car yards who can't seel them. I've noticed the same thing down here. To make it even worse the couple that I have seen for sale have coils and no TR

The V6 Petrol D3 is a little thirsty from what I have seen. They read 19 - 21 Per 100Km around town driving.

The cheapest on carsales was a tad under 50k. Coil springs and no TR on any model D3 is useless, petrol 6 or not. I think Land Rover stuffed up putting that engine in them. Matt

Not strictly. It doesn't hurt to have a base model with a more basic engine, is having the choice really that bad a thing? Anyway, the petrol V6 isn't available in all markets.

Mines still for sale , yikes on the petrol, the V8 sits between 13.9 to 14.2 both round town and highway driving. Even off road it only climbs to around mid 15's.

I haven't looked, at the details, but the used car market is quiet at the moment.

Other problems they would likely have is that they were very expensive new, and they aren't very old yet. LR also does a bit of discounting which really doesn't help.

Often the original owners try and ask too much for them. It's a bitter pill to swallow having to sell such a new car. As per usual, check the redbook and see what it says. It doesn't look like they are doing too bad? When cars are that new often people just buy new.

I would hazard a guess and say that it's likely that those seeking to buy second had ones can probably afford new base models, but want one with EAS & TR, so are waiting for those to come on the second hand market.

I reckon you are most probably right. I will considere buying a D3 later on when they are cheaper, but simply cant afford one now. Matt

Got a LRA owned vehicle here right now. Dark blue Disco 3 TDV6 SE with satnav, 19 inch rims, roof rack, nudge bar and winch.
I have been told it is due to be sold (24 000km) and it will go to tender. I don't know how much $$$ it will go for, but it seems to be a pretty good unit (we just did the 24 000 km service).
