I once ran into the back of a Honda accord with a White Road Boss.I was pulling into a right turn lane with a green light and the Honda passed me on the left and moved across my bows into the turning lane and took all my stopping space, the light turned yellow and the joker stopped instead of going through on the yellow. Hondas crumple easy. The Hondas wheelbase was substantially shortened, all four doors popped open and could not be closed, the rear window fell into the rear seat, and the windscreen popped out and spun down Logan Road like a top. Fortuneately for me, the people standing outside a cab depot saw it all, and told the coppers who caused it, otherwise I was going to be charged with negligent driveing. The truck is always to blame in the tiny minds of our custodians of law and order.

I had a bloke run up the rear of my P38A when I stopped for a red light. He was miffed 'cos he thought I would run the red and so would he. I didn't - he tried to.

His car was mightily bent. The tie-down loop on mine was bent. His insurance company (NRMA) paid me $900 for the damage to my RR. They weren't happy as I got a quote from a panel beater not on their approved list. They bucked a bit but did pay up.

Mine also had a Kaymar rear bar fitted.

That's bs (by the cops ). A crime has been committed and they should investigate it. Just pure laziness. Ring up and ask to speak to the OIC and if that doesn't work ring up someone in Perth.

Hi Jamo, did you report it to the police.

I had a similar situation happen me in the RR and only had a small scratch in the plastic rear bumper ( there’s literally an RSJ behind both bumpers ) and the trailer plug was knocked off.

I didn’t want to report it but the wife kept at me so I finally rang the police a few hours after the event.

While I was reporting it the the police officer, I told him, I wasn’t that worried about and was only reporting it to stop the wife giving me a hard time.

The Officer told me the wife was right ( oh live that down ) because the other scum bag could go off and report it and say I had taken off, so Jamo, if you haven’t done it, go protect your ****.

    Cheers.

Joan was in the passenger seat (i was taking her to her belly dancing) and when she heard the noise, she didn't even know that it was us that had been hit till I told her!

That was a good suggestion of yours. Pity I didn't think of it at the time. I've even got the STT's on at the moment. Oh, well, maybe next time!
As long as you and Joan are OK, thats the main thing, then the D3 is OK, then anyone in the Commodore. Have seen this Commodore around driving like it was stolen. The WEZ number plates make it real findable. I would be demanding the police look into it. Get a report filed and state that the other car had at least 5k damage then they have to follow it up. Not hard to go to the puter and look it up.
Joan and bellydancing . Whens the next BBQ and a bellydancing exhibition???
Ordered a little buggy today to go and play on the beach with. Should be in town next week.

I would definitely make the police take the details down and give you a report number. As above, tell them that there was $XXXX damage to the commodore and your chassis may be bent (never know).

I once parked (a couple of metres) behind a falcon on the side of the road. About 5 minutes later he reversed so he could pull out - straight into my bullbar. All his lights were smashed... bullbar was fine.

I had something similar happen to me in my old Rangie.

I was towing a loaded car trailer so I was adjusting my speed to avoid having to stop at too many traffic lights. As I approached a set of lights that were red, I coasted down preparatory to stopping. As I got closer the lights changed so I accelerated. Just then a young bloke in a WRX whizzed past and cut in front of the female driver in front of me. She propped and stalled her Camry. I had nowhere to go and rammed her.

My bullbar rode through her boot and pushed the boot lid up to the window. Her car looked like a crewcab. Damage to the Rangie was a bent number plate and a few scratches on the bull bar.

Because no one was injured, no one was drunk (there are about 5 criteria), the cops didn't have to be called, thank goodness. I did make a report to the police within 24 hours as required but as they weren't called, I didn't get charged with neg driving.

I didn't make a claim on my insurance and I never heard anything more about it.

I started rolling forward on a Left Turn lane to merge into a 3 lane Highway, but a car from the middle lane jumped into the inside lane, so I had to stop. The truck behind me - thinking I was going to take off, ran up the back of the Rangie. The removable ARB Tow ball tongue got bent. I suggeseted I price the fix and give him a call, as the repair was going to be cheaper than his excess. He was happy with such a resolution. I rang around, and got prices around the $200 (Ritters). He sent me the $200, but when I went to get it they were out of stock. ARB happened to have a couple in, though they no longer produce that bar, and I got it for around the $50 mark

Everytime something like that happens, a Land Rover owner has prevented another ton of land fill or several megalitres of water use by industry to repair the damage. - Where can I cash in my Greenhouse Carbon Credits?

Not in a Landrover (company car, Ford), but some years ago in Melbourne in the evening peak I was stopped at lights in Bridge rd where it is two lanes, number two before the intersection in the left lane. Lights change, everyone starts off, leading car in right lane moves to the centre of the intersection with right blinker on, stops. Second car in the right lane accelerates flat out, puts on his blue flashing lights and pulls into my lane just in front of me and heads for the big fire just started three blocks ahead - so I stop rather suddenly to avoid hitting him. The bloke behind me was expecting me to keep going and is still accelerating when he hit me. He seemed to think I should have hit the police car rather than stop!

    Geez Ron,
you were lucky, normally you would have been charged with negligent driving and I would have thought the woman in the Camry would have made a claim against you, must have reported the wrx as being at fault. Pretty much if you rear end someone you have at least a proportion of fault. This garbage that the police are not interested amazes me as they are supposed to be involved. Their care factor of late is not good. All major impacts an ambulance should be called and persons in said impacted vehicles should be checked over by a paramedic if not a doctor. I would monitor anyone in a heavy impact crash for at least 24hrs to be sure.
