Funny Thing Happend At 4x4 Expo Yesterday

A Local footy club run a 4x4 expo in Hamilton yesterday.....lets just say I hope a commitee will be formed to make it better next year

But as usal in Hamilton not many turned out to surport it.....but at $10 gate entry it was doomed from the start And to make it worse the main man was on holidays up to thurs and his phone numbers were in the small ads in the paper, but didnt have any idea how much per site, size of sites etc etc

But our club members went up to help and man our own display without putting our name to it too much as it was a very large balls up from the second when they thought of it.....

    But anyway they had a show & Shine.......and I won Best 4x4

I just entered as numbers were down early on. Others turned up later but I walked away with a great trophy (Dust collector) two spare wheel cover's, two Kumho polo shirts, $80 gift voucher at a local Tyre shop

You must be lucky! Some people have it!

I prefer to donate rather than go in raffles anymore... never win anything!

Excellent! and the Kumho shirts could be used for those rough 'n' dirty days.

Sounds like an organisation problem, would've had lots more, if better prep'd, maybe.

Was the $10 for a charity/cause or did it just disappear?

There are many events here that charge $$$$$$, but the dough goes to the Rural Fire Service or the like, which is fine. Our local blokes recently raised enough to build a bigger shed and decent training facilities.

Money went to the Sandford Footy club.....They wanted to give us (Our 4x4 club) money from the show & shine, but we refused...with thanks because looks we might end up with a few members out of the day.

We are already making plans and putting a "De-brief" list together for next year. It has alot going for it so there is going to be a commitee to give them a hand, just over there heads Iguess, but they gave it a go. I dont know the background to the club but as we all know there is problerly only a few doing all the work.
