As for NLRC I'd love to attend one of there tuff trips in a locked and lifted LR and blitz the lot of them, but I ain't got the car to do it.
One day though
Like I said online meeting minutes would be good so out of area members could attend a virtual meeting, I've been on a few of the Tuff trips with Max and the boys and love it, my car aint up to them though. Can I access the website, with not being a member?Originally Posted by barney

You can always keep in contact with the members who you like and do your own thing without the anti-LR bull****![]()

When a mechanic tells me that, that says to me that they are not a mechanics a%$hole. Any decent mechanic should be able to work on any vehicle from a Lada up to a Caterpillar dump truck. There is not that much difference. Have had this discussion with a couple of mechanics and told them what I think of them. I can understand waiting for parts from a non LR workshop and having to seek advice or a manual, but to not even take a look shows huge ineptitude.
I said to a Toyota mechanic who told me he did not work on Land Rovers any more. Yep, that would be right simple cars for simple people and worked on by simpletons. Can not tackle anything that takes a bit of thought.

Thats true i was talking to a guy who has moved to newcastle from dobbo, he responded to my add in the back of Just 4x4's to start a club in the central west. I asked him why he wanted to join a club so far away and his reply was the LROC in Newcastle is crap, there are only two land rovers, and the other land rover owners club is fully of people who dont want any more members, and their idea of a trip is drive to a camp ground have champagne and bikkies and go home. This is why i wont join a club the idea of turning up to a l/r club run and have a ****** in a toiletflota bag me cause i driving a rangie dosent appeal to me ive done 1 run with the newcastle club was copilot in mates s111 swb (yrvgreen's rover) mick (cal415) was there as well and the only other rover was a 2 door rangie and the rest was forien crap i asked the guy who was running the day trip weres the landys isent this supose to be a l/r club i got weird looks and was told that theres only a few landys in the club and most others are pootrols n tioletfloatas so i then asked why is it called a land rover club and the response was all the old members which started the club are no longer members and the name has stayed on to this i wasent supprised cause they prob gat sick of the jap boys in there toys
I would like to join the newcastle landrover club only to use the lease they have on land up in the barrington area as this is available to members and is a good spot but the thought of the bagging from the jap boys turned me off so maby will just have t settle with aulro as it works for me and im happy here and the invites to do lroc trips are great .
As i said in the other thread about clubs i dont mind goin bush with any other sort of forby as long as we all get along and no one acts like a goose i can take the usual baging if stuck or in a jam but when its constant and demeaning that's when i will fire up and get agro especialy when its cause i drive a rangie![]()

as for the newcastle landrover club i think they need a name change or a mass influx of landrover owners to join up ....
There nothing wrong with banter, but bagging and rubbishing a person for what they drive is not on IMO. I always hang crap on pootrols and so forth but it's never meant in a mean spirited way and always for a laugh. I expect a bit back and it's all good.Originally Posted by lokka
I recently had a thread in the Yarns section about this topic and experienced it first hand at a 'mixed' 4WD club meeting, and no I won't be joioning this club.
