Tour Bus rollover on Fraser

Just heard from an Ambo mate, one of those big tour buses rolled on Fraser - you know the big things - Eurotrash coaches on steroids - types.

No wonder if you've ever seen some of them drive up there?

Apparently a few choppers are on the way - hope they're alright.

Look I hope everyone is OK but the way they drive doesn't surprise me. When we were there two weeks ago on one of the inland roads had one of them right up our ass for 500 meters blowing the horn every minute and when our convey did find a place to pull over he must have been doing 60 or more when he floored it to get past us.

When we mentioned that to some of the locals they said yes lately they have been driving faster and faster they think they own the island and the locals have been getting really pi#@$ed off with them.

However hope no one is seriously hurt.

Tourists injured in Qld bus rollover

Six Japanese tourists have been injured when their tour bus rolled on Fraser Island, off south-east Queensland, police say.
The bus rolled on Hook Point, Dilli Village Road, at the southern end of the island shortly before 3pm (AEST) on Wednesday.
"There is no information at this stage suggesting critical injuries or death," a police spokeswoman said.

Hmmm! ..bit of de ja vue.. Many years ago we spent 4 weeks at happy valley While we were there 4x4 truck converted to carry passengers overturned with a bunch of tourist pensioners on board

Its unfortunate that some innocent tourists have to pay for some clowns incompetence, and to think they also forked out quite a bit of money for the priviledge. matt

How the hell can you roll a vehicle on that road.

If we are talking the inland road from hook point to near Dilli Village - when I drove it in September it was a little corrigated in spots... but if I wanted to I could have got through there at 140 in my old Commmodore! (The beach at each end might have been a tad awkward mind you

)

Too fast on the open sand... and missing a creek or dip I can understand - too hard onto a corner on some of the rough inland roads I understand... but Dilli Village road!!

Glad no serious injuries... but jeezuz...these people obviously had ZERO driving skill... 4x4 or not!..
