    Mud in the Centre

Sometimes we get rain here. Friday afternoon we got a good storm passing through and enough rain fell to put a bit of water into the claypans. Sunday afternoon was playtime . SWMBO didn't want to drive through the first time, once she had I thought I would need a crowbar to get her out of the drivers seat!

Summer 2001/2002 I did a run up the Tanami after a quick stop at Ayres rock. It rained the whole time we were at Ayres rock. It was a ripper. And it was hot as too. I was just standing around in the rain drinking beers. It was my first trip to that part of the country. I thought "this is a bit odd". Got some great shots of Ayres rock covered in cloud with waterfalls coming off it.

On the run up the Tanami it was mud, mud and more mud all the way to around about Rabbit Flat. Roughly 400km's. We were getting some very odd looks when we got into Halls Creek and didn't have an opportunity to wash the car until Broome. Forever had an orange tinge to it after that trip.
    Cheers

Rains more in the desert than anyone would suspect. And lots more than where its needed.

Chicks 'n' mud is a great idea there, BigJon. LOL!!!!

I went past the Lake Eyres in 1980(ish) and they were the great inland sea! Amazing!!!!
