As funny as it would be you cant really put down "Nissan's are crap" as a cause of an accident.

This is starting to sound like a bunch of nissan and toyo drivers stating land rovers are shyte cause they have heard it.

I thought we were above this cr4p

Instead of turning this into a CWA meeting and having a bitch and moan (because we can) how bout getting some facts?

I have driven a few Pootrol's in the past and yes they wallow around corners, but it isn't a Lotus Elise, like Land Rovers they are heavy cars with high centres of gravity and should be driven with this in mind.

Exactly. A lot of people expect 4wds to handle like cars. Range Rovers were involved in a few motorway rollovers in the UK some years ago and people were saying they were dangerous. It wasn't the vehicle it was the drivers, expecting to be able to do rapid lane changes at 100mph in a 4wd.

Exactly. I thought this was a Land Rover forum. Since when have we got all huffy and puffy about defending Patrols?

What I was getting at in the original post was that the show mentioned poor handling and I have read plenty of posts about GU Patrols having something wrong with their castor (???) from the factory. I forget what it was exactly but it made them wander around and Nissan never seemed to want to fix it. I read right up on it as when I was looking at getting my last 4wd it was a toss up between a D1 3.9 and a GU 4.5. I'm guessing you can figure out which way I went

You want poor handling try an unladen Tojo Troopy with hd suspension!

I reckon my old SIIA had better steering and handling.

Our SES Troopys have to have the rear suspension upgraded to cope with a decent trailer and a few people in the back, but unladen they handle like a boat in choppy seas.

No one, if you guys really want to scrape your nuckles on the ground and bitch about cars you haven't got therefore they must be inferior, unreliable or dangerous you'll sound just like the average pootrol driver

Go ahead I need a laugh

Oh remember to say how they'll have to be towed out of the bush as well.

I had the displeasure of driving a Patrol from Kununurra to Broome about 8 or nine years ago. It was one of those ones that looked like a Ford Maverick (or vice versa). It wandered around and made a long drive even more tiring. I swore after that I'd never buy a patrol.

Even the unladen hilux I took via the same route a few months later drove better.

Mind you, I have never driven any later Patrol models.
