No surprises there .. I think one of us should write a letter to 4WD Monthly just to check how Australia's Best All Terrain 4WD gets placed 6th in their 4WDOTY competition.

I've stopped buying 4WD Monthly. Waste of time and money! It seems to me that their mag is aimed at mental midgets with insecurities as to their own phallus size; rather than providing informative articles.

Good to see the world's best 4wd getting another accolade!!

like boxing and wrestling, if you want to be the world heavy weight champion of the world, just create your own boxing council, your own championship belt and declare yourself a winner.

Seems best 4wd, best car awards are going down similar path

7 million members cant be wrong!

didn't know LR sold that many D3s lately... LOL

not a bad call tho'....there's no doubt its the bees knees or the ducks nuts or whatever...

Some other 'awarder' gave a 4wd gong to the Audi Q7 and then said its okay given that most 4wds aren't used off road......fair comment in isolation, but then why buy a (real or actual) 4wd, which really isnt offroad capable.....

$100,000 is a bucket of dough for some butch thing to pose around town in....

as i run a local paper, my award goes to to bloke who runs up and down the beach (and thru the soft stuff with no probs) in an old Tercel.....his Valiant wagon got too rusty......

You believe them when www.drive.com gives the best 4WD gongs to the RAV4

Toyota RAV4 Cruiser It won our compact four-wheel-drive comparison in August by being competent in every measurable area, and class-leading sales show buyers agree.
    and the Audi Q7

Audi Q7 3.0 TDi The Q7 won our diesel comparison because it has “the best combination of quality, performance, price, equipment and a good blend of sport and comfort”. 'Nuff said.

I assume, Ron, that 'drive.com' would give a gong to a goggomobil or a reliant 3 wheeler, if the price was right......

Audi Q7?????????? there's already one in our little village,

    uh - oh, we're going yuppie.....(and there's now 2 Touaregs and 3 MB MLs!).

Cheap houses, expensive cars, no taste, no style.....

In our little town (popn 15K) there are 4 x D3, 3 x ML350 and 1 x Cayenne; and the RE agent and his son in Hopetoun (popn 2000 and 200km down the road) have matching towrags.

The D3's and towrags have been offroad. One of the ML's went onto the beach and had to be dragged off. It seems you can't switch off the DSC so when the wheels slipped too much, the car applied the brakes constantly. Bit of a momentum stopper that one!

I thought I saw a Q7 around but I don't know if it is local or an affluent grey nomad.

    That's fairdinkum funny Jamo.

Go the ML! (or maybe it doesn't go....ultimate soft roader, doesn't even have a spare tyre, what a laugh, get a carnival you *******s)

    the marvels of technology

so I assume there must be a huge fight going on inside the computers:

The DSC says stop, the ABS says 'leave me alone, I'm the brake computer'

The DSC says 'I outrank you'....

could make a good Monty Python type gag.......
