    OT TV show

Ok ... a question for you older English comedy tragics. Have taken to watching old reruns on Saturday nights - Benny Hill, Are you being served etc.
SWMBO and I think George and Mildred was a spin off from another show but can't remember which one. Was it Robyn's Nest?

Robin's Nest (Robin was a male). There was a US spin off of Robin's Nest as well but, as is usual with US copies, it was crap.
    Hang on, let's Google it.

    See http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/guide/ar..._7775505.shtml

Ahh, at the bottom of the page they mention the US version, Three's Company

Prior to George and Mildred there was Man About The House - and I did like the girls in that (especially the blonde, Sally Thomsett). See http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/guide/ar..._7774205.shtml

    Is 'Allo 'Allo coming, too?

Man About The House - yes that's it !! I remember it now (for the same reasons as you Ron )

Robyn is my wife's name - force of habit with the spelling.

No sign of 'Allo 'Allo yet, but they are advertising DVD's of the series.

I couldn't really stomach Some Mother Do 'Ave 'Em, but the rest of the shows they are rerunning are ok.

This has now got me thinking - which were the best British comedies? Monty Python aside, I would rate Yes Minister, Open All Hours and George and Mildred as the best.
Would be interested to hear what other people think.

Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em is rather dated now but it's interesting that Michael Crawford did nearly all his character's stunts (and there were some lulus). I'm always amazed that he had such a great singing voice as heard in Phantom of the Opera.

'Allo 'Allo is one of my favourites.
Open All Hours but not Porridge
    Benny Hill
Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister are wonderful.

    Allo Allo
    Blackadder
    On the buses
    The young ones
    Only Fools and horses
    Red Dwarf
    Not the nine o'clock news
The Alexi Sale show (classic movie of his Didn't you kill my bruva)

Some of the new comedies are O.K but political correctness has killed them off a lot.

My favourites were Love Thy Neighbour, Allo Allo and Dads Army, but I seem to remember I liked most of them
