    Mungo NP

Since the Perth Trip is off and I still have leave in Jan, I'm planning on a few small trips. Has anyone been up to Mungo NP?

I hear it's very interesting & unusual. I've had a look at the website, but I'm just wondering whether anyone has any recommendations for sightseeing / 4WDing in that area.

    Thanks in advance.

It is a very interesting place, although I would not like to be heading out there in the middle of summer. We were out there in April and it was very warm even then.

Great if you are into geology and early human existence. Also some amazing country which has resulted from erosion caused by over-stocking.

Well worth the visit, just not in summer.

Thanks noddy, a mate with a Defender is doing a support vehicle role for the Murray marathon and they finish at Swan Hill at New Years, so I was thinking it would be a good opportunity to head up, given he'd already be in the area. He'll have a couple of Engels and a 400 litre water tank on board, so we'll be sure to stock up with cool drinks & icecreams. I suppose I'd better put an annexe on the Defender too.

HAae to agree with Noddy Awesome place to visit, the china wall is something to see as is the 70 Klm track around the park. I went in August before heading up to Broken Hill. I would be damn hot right during summer. The old wool shed is something to see too.
