    Sorry for your woes DiscoTDi,
This also depends on what u want to do or get out of your next off road vehicle.
I have a friend who has the diesel variant Pathfinder, to date no major problems at all, great fuel economy & even fully loaded 2 adults 3-4 kids still has plenty o punch.
Off road well its no Disco, does whats asked off it in easy offroading, but struggles a bit with anything more serious.

Just my dealings with a few Land Rover dealerships has made me wonder how on earth Land Rover Australia manages to sell as many vehicles per annum as they do. The sole reason I haven't been able to test drive a D3 is that everytime I've been in to a Dealer's they have been almost totally disinterested in even speaking to a customer.

Good luck with a purchase, frankly I'd hate to be out of my rovers but I really don't know what I'll be replacing my 03 D2 with in a few years.

Your biggest hassle is your location,(believe me I know). Its the 2 days off work for a scheduled service due to the distance you have to drive to get to a dealer that starts the rot and then its the 2 days off for both yourself and your missus if they need the vehicle for more then a day, it just goes on and on.My advice find the closest possible dealer and buy whatever make they sell.

Today I had a look at a 2002 Grand Jeep Cheroke Overlander. On the money nice looking vehicle, set up well, low mileage and 4.7 litre V8.

I think it might be the winner, any thoughts anyone?
