A long way from the Alice!!! Haven't been to Fraser for years but crossed Eli Ck in a series 2A once with the water over the bonnet.

By the way Jon, my Defender you fitted a new gearbox to got home OK to Sydney with the oil leak. Didn't even need to top it up. Have hung up the clutch parts as a mobile above the BBQ. Hope NOT to see you when I retry the Hay River track and Madigans. Shorty

    G'day Mate,

Yep, it was a long trip. About 7000km in total. The two nights on the island made all the other hassles worthwhile.

I have seen the pics of the clutch parts, and the trophy you were awarded.

I can understand why you don't want to end up back here, but you are always welcome if you do come back this way.

Salt water isn't very good for anything at all, I will agree with you there.
Once off the island I went straight to an under body wash. The volume of water they shift is amazing. I drove through lots of rain on the way home too, which will have given the entire car a good fresh water rinse.

It was a good trip, but not anywhere near enough time to catch up with all the people that I would have liked to. Australia is a bloody big country when you start driving from the middle to the edge!!
