    G'day Quiggers

I don't think you would get a WW11 Jeep in that condition for $7000 try about $20,000 plus

I wouldn't want a Willys type in new conditon, UncleHo, original will be just fine and I don't even mind bullet holes and bar treads.

There was a non runner at Dubbo Auction in November paddock basher condition, sold for $7000 but the neat 3 ton Blitz failed to gain a bid.

Its amazing what the older 4wds sell for, especially the older jeeps and Series I's. I stopped in to ask the guy at Ben Bullen if he wanted to sell the Series I in his yard to Larry for spares for his and he spun me this crap about them being rare and expensive, then told me some guy had offered him 4k and now the price had gone up. It has been sitting there for at least 10yrs, most likely longer and is begining to rot away, he is having a lend of himself if he reckons he is getting $1000 let alone 4 times that. Matt

Yes they are Ugly, I don't like driving it, it's thirsty but thats Jeep for you.
They don't realise that over here we pay about 3 times as much for petrol than they do.
1 thing I will give it is that is is great to tow with, nearly as good as the Disco, it can take off from the lights with 2 horses in a float without a problem where the landy struggles until it gets to about 60km/h.
It is a good car but I don't like Jeeps except the older 70's cherokee's, XJ cherokee's, CJ Jeeps and Willy/Ford Jeeps.
I agree'd to the ZG because It is a bit heavier than the XJ we had before and the Disco we still have just to make it a bit better to tow with.
Now we don't have a horse or a float and she now wants a small car so she steels my landrover because it's cheaper to run she recons.
Bugger that, she's wearing out my brakes in stop start traffic and im driving a bloody jeep.

I will consider swaping it for a Disco on gas or Rangie on gas with all the luxuries of course.

I may even consider a Freelander but that is a may as I havent heard much good stuff about them.

By the way must be auto, Rw and reliable (as much as a landy is).

I would consider other smaller cheaper to run cars as well but around the mid to late 90's.

I would like nothing more than to have another Disco in the driveway that I could scrounge parts off when I break mine

Please get me out of this Jeep...

Mcrover: USA fuel price has gone thru the roof.

1997 price $US1.05 a US gallon or about 28 US cents per litre
2007 price $US3.20 a US gallon or about 85 US cents per litre

1 US gallon is 3.78 litres

Now wonder the gas guzzlers are screaming!

Well I cant afford to run a yank car in oz and for that matter I shouldn't have to as I OWN A DISCOVERY and I still want it back.

I drove it to work today and took 2 bags of rubbish out of it and of course the fuel light was on.
