    Home A/C Remote Control

Not sure where to post this so here'll do. Does anyone know of a conductive adhesive that I can use to stick the LCD screen from my aircon remote control back onto the circuit board. I was having trouble with different parts of the screen blanking out so I opened it up to"fix" it and ended up rooting it with the LCD screen coming off the board. Unfortunately it is a cheapo Chinese import and the importer is no longer around so I can't just buy a new remote. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

If you've got a "learning remote" for the TV/HiFi/etc you could program that for the A/C. Otherwise I'd check out Dick Smith or even a few small dobs of silastic.

If you go to a refrigeration supplier like Heatcraft or Actrol you can buy a universal remote you just match the code and it will work with your machine. I have used this on a few machines and they work well. I don't remember how much they were I get trade so it would be different anyway. Heatcraft definately get them and they can oder them in.

Thanks for the replies. Will try Jaycar and if that fails I'll see if I can get a universal remote for cheaper than I paid for the aircon.

    Thanks again.
