There is a set starting method for the Husky,they can be a tad temprimental.Well my mates was and he got his new.His is a 365,also a workmate has a BIG husky and a 365.
Go to the Husky website,not the aussie,but the USA version.For some reason most powertool/powered tool websites in the USA have the owners/parts manuals online to download.
Goodluck,they are a nice saw,miles ahead of a stihl,their HP is much higher for the same CCs,and much better vibration control for the user.I have a Dolmar,68cc nice saw,also much better than a Stihl.

Thanks guys, and Crump, I trust you, but the 357XP had an automatic decomp valve, so that is why I couldn't find it.
At the moment I am refitting the bar and chain, to see if that makes a difference as I thought the cover may have been fouling the drive when bolted on without the bar.
I can't get the cover back on though, the metal strap for the chain brake won't go over the drum.
Oh and thanks for the comments Andy - the reputation of the husky and especially the XP were what made me get it - and it seems to be in good nick, if only I could get the B***ard reassembled and started!!!

You should be able to start and run the motor without the bar and chain on it.....just for the sake of seeing if it'll run.
Thanks guys, I read the manual and got the chain brake issue sorted. still doesn't seem to want to start, but as I am in the office at present (picked the saw up from the post office at lunch) I don't want to make too much of a commotion :o
I have 25:1 fuel in it. Will check for spark when I get home tonight if it isn't running by then...
