A husky I bought off ebay just arrived. Now I have never owned one of these new fangled saws (only an old metal bodied one without a chain brake). So before I hassle the seller because the say won't start, what is the correct procedure???
And what is the red button above the choke for?

on the right hand side above the pull start is a little black button, decompression, dont try to start without pushing it in.Pull the blue lever out for choke and that activates the red lever to run mode, give it a few pulls til it fires and stops. Reset the decomp button and pull again until it runs, push red lever down to stop.

Mine is relatively new, about 6 yrs old,you may not have it.Pulling the blue lever out and activating choke sets the throttle to start mode seting, you dont have to click or hold the throttle lever. The decomp button isnt obvious, I had to read the manual to find it.Also, the choke deactivates automatically as the engine fires.

Mines a 350, with the bar facing away from you look down on the right hand side where the mount for the handle joins the body, about an inch in front of that there may or may not be a black mushroom shaped thingo, if it moves in when you push it, thats your decomp, its about the thickness of a pencil.its on the body of the engine, not the plastic housing.
