Here's my 2 penny worth on the door - I think it's a UK or European vehicle. A LOT of European/UK Series wagons had the spare low for visibility. I see the licence plate light is high - more suitable for a square plate than our elongated type.

    G'day DiscoTDI

Nice find Scott, looks like an early Ser 3 with only the 2 hinge rear door, the later ones moved the spare up, and a middle hinge was fitted, this could well be an import, or from the first couple of shipments, it may even be 1971, the first year of Series 3's

    cheers

    Hi,
I have a 1982 Series 3 and it only has 2 hinges on the rear door, on a Series 3 I have only seen 3 hinges where people have added them.

The Series 3 parts book does not list three hinges even as an option. I think you are right and the three hinges only came with the 90/110

It just occured to me that maybe the spare wheel mount is so low because it may not have been used as a wheel mount at all. Perhaps he had a set up to carry a jerry ?!
