woooohooooo got pics
i got the pics to load.this is the new beast just starting work getting ready to weld the new front outriggers on..can any one help with the brake booster its a holden one that is fitted see pic.its stuffed should i replace it with a holden one again or go back to a land rover one ,if i can find one that is as i got a price on a new one $450 new maybe i can get a second hand one???????Attachment 1662

Had one of them on my series 3 and and it had half decent brakes, one pump most of the time compared to the previous series two which needed up to three pumps plus a clairvoyant so you could know in advance when to start pumping. Originality is great but you cant beat safety and practicality.

Looks great, personally I'd go a new holden brake booster, preferably one from a V8 if it's any better than the one you have in it. Your car is allready plumbed up to accept it so you might as well get a good one in there and upgrade the brakes as well.

I would check to see if the Master Cylinder bore is he same as on the Landy, Landrover= 1"(25mm) bore 1 1/2"(38mm) stroke
The Holden one would be easier to service,and parts would be more available, there is a Company in Victoria that specialises in Booster Reconditioning of all makes, on a change over basis, I had one of their business cards but can't find it
they go to most of the big Swap Meets

I am fitting range rover axles to my land rover series 2a. Does anyone know the bore and stroke of a 1985 range rover master cylinder and mechnical advantage of the rangie booster ie 2:1
