The Sale of Goods Act covers this. The goods must be fit for their intended purpose, and if said goods are advertised or promoted as being for off-road use then you have the seller by the short and curlies. This is the legislation used by smart consumers to proceed against shonky car dealers, rather than the Motor Dealers Act.

Actually no - cooling aluminium quickly when hot makes it softer (opposite of steel) - therefore LESS likely to crack.

So pee away - if that is your particular fetish...

Damn alloys, I bet you could get about $3 each at sims for them Ray.

I used to work in a tyre joint years ago for a second job when I was an apprentice and we had a Volvo come in with a spoke missing from an ROH rim.

We took it off and sent it to them and they replaced it free of charge and even paid for the cartage.

They are not bad to work with and they probably will appreciate the feed back so they can rectify the problem.

I don't know weather it was true but it is likly thet they told us that there were not many of those rims made as yet and they would contact the people that bought them.

As they were 18" and only for Volvos of thet specific model I tend to believe that to be possible as 18" was still rare back then.

Keep in mind that thes was about 10 or more years ago.

By the way those steelies would look great on the Disco, How much and where do you get them.

I saw some at AMV but they were on a rangie and I thought they looked good then but I didn't ask them how much as I was already spending more than the budget allowed already.
