If I were you I'd have the defender thoroughly checked out by a reputable Landy expert...or just give it a miss.
So a Paj buggered at 117,000 kms!

My Defender has done 210,000 in 5 years, has had regular servicing & has given no trouble. I did have to replace the speedo transducer recently.
The thing goes like a train - however it does100kms a day, a lot of which is at 110kph

    G'day mns488

The Red one that abaddonxi found is NEW with zero Klms and at that price less trade with a bit of haggling, and needing some extras to sway the deal you should come out just fine and a full warranty to boot.

    cheers

The service history tells a lot about how an owner cares for his vehicle. Never buy a defender without a full service history, unless it is an absolute steel - and then expect the money you have saved to be spent on fixing something.

The price on this is really far too high - I would be patient, and keep looking. The advice to wait for the 07 release, and pick up an earlier demo or new would be the best bet, unless you are dead keen to get the new lumpy bonnet model.
