Best Concerts (can't remember years exactly):
1994(?) They Might Be Giants - Roxy In Brisbane (also again nin 96 or so)
1994(?) Pearl Jam - Brisbane Entertainment centre (concert that sold out in 30 mins - don't like the big concerts as a rule though)
1996(?) Midnight Oil at the Alex. Hills Hotel and again a year or so later down the gold coast
2003(?) Moby and Massive Attack - both at convention centre (separate nights)
2005 - Moby in Koln (Cologne) Germany (not quite as good as the brisbane gig, but still great).
Woodford folk festival - various gigs over many years. Most memorable: Whitlams, Fourplay, Kloset Klezmer.
John Butler Trio (always awesome) - think I first saw him at The Zoo.
Lots of others I can't remember at the moment.

    Most disappointing concerts:
Rem - big fan, and their music is great, but the concerts I have been to were pretty average - technically great, but Michael Stipe is so shy that they don't have much atmosphere - may as well just stay home and listen to CDs.

    Old buggers stevo68?

We were all there when the real bands played.

And some (of the customers) were in the aisles creating another generation like your goodself

Go and ask dad what he was doing at a few gigs in the sixties.

All that forgetable mob you quoted were copiers of the greats

btw: buggers has an e, not an a....

And we're not old, just wise, you'll be 49 one day - and apparently not too far away - yup the spies have got that one sorted

    only joking

whats the average age of a D3 driver?

Suzie Quatro 1974 Festival Hall Melb. I was 15, she wore leather.
Status Quo 1975 Festival Hall Melb. Still love those riffs.
Rod Stewart 1977 Myer Music Bowl. The Brit Eckland days.
Lou Reed 1977 Palais St.Kilda. So drug f&@3d, it was a larf.
Queen, two nights in 1985 at the old sports and entertainment centre Melb.(Still the best audio visual show I have seen).
Billy Joel 1987 Kooyong Melb. Third row centre.
AC/DC 1988 Rod Lavour Melb. Permanent ear damage.
The Eagles Hell Freezes Over Tour, Rod Lavour Melb. Second row, dead centre, brilliant sound.
Queen... Without doubt. I was fortunate enough to go to their last ever live gig (although no one knew it at the time). Aug 8th 1986 Knebworth Park. It was an extra date that they put on as their Wembley dates sold out soooo quickly.

Genesis did a pretty good stage show and Iron Maiden @ Hammersmith were great... Though a little loud (couldn't hear properly for 2 days)

Walked into The Roxy nightclub in Brissy one night in and Mental as Anything were playing under an assumed name mainly doing 60s rock n roll. Awesome
The Mentals are currently touring around Melbourne. I saw them at the local RSL a couple of weeks ago. As good as ever in my opinion even if it isn't all the original members.

    And more.....

Firstly, what was I thinking....Rod Lavour?? Shows you how much I know about tennis

There have been so many others. Some you guys have mentioned. In the early to mid 70's in Melb there was a regular Saturday night dance at St. Peter's in East Bentleigh. They had eveyone just before they became really big. Skyhooks, AC/DC, Hush, Kush, Sherbet etc etc.

The Police twice. First time, Festival Hall Melb. Great concert but as always with that place an accoustic nightmare. Second time at the Melb Showgrounds in 85. That was to be their last concert as they broke up right after it. Also on that ticket you got Brian Adams, Australian Crawl and others I can't remember now.
