    Turmoil in the workplace

    Interesting week at work.
The leading hand put a letter of complaint into the office alledging harrasment by the works supervisor.
Tuesday morning the CEO and shire lawyer turn up at work,no supervisor. He was phoned and told to turn up.He looked like he had been thru hell and back.We were all lectured by the lawyer about the serious nature of the yet unknown allegations.
One by one we were all interviewed by the lawyer and CEO.
The allegations were absolout crap.We all backed the supervisor,MUCH TO HIS DISBELIEF,as he thought we were all out to hang him.
The end result was the Leading hand retracted the allegations in return for re-employment.We had a meeting this morning and said none of us felt we could no longer work with the leading hand.He was dismissed.
    The best result for everyone.
It just goes to show how easy it is to destroy somebodys career(Im refering to the Supervisor),the leading hand thought he had the support of 2 workers but they werent even ready to back the claims.I suspect the leading hand thought we would back him.If we had the Supervisor was to be dismissed immediately.SERIOUS STUFF!!!!
This bloke has been sulking ever since he missed out on the supervisors position last october, and was largely a case of sour grapes.
The upshot is,one grumpy old man gone and I now get Bazs grader that the same grumpy old man cut me out of at the start of the year
It will be a much better harmonious workplace as a result of his departure
No replacement to be employed so hopefully we get to do a bit more overtime.

Hope it gets better at work for you. Earlier this year we got one of our positions back. We had been paying for the position for 2 years waiting for a resolution while he worked for a different section.

I had a situation when i started at school in 03 where a teacher, a really nasty bitch, wasnt full time, she was only filling in for someone on LWOP, he had taken 12 months but relinqished his position after the year was up, so she stayed on. The position needed filling for 3yrs or something i turned up in the second year of this. So she saw me as a threat cause i took some science classes from her, she is primary trained so no one understands how she can teach secondary. I started a swear jar with the kids (it got the approval of the boss and the deputy at the time) it was agreed that any student who didnt want to pay into the swear jar would do a detention for inappropriate language. One student complained to said teacher (was their year advisor at the time) that i was giving detentions out for not paying into the swear jar, not the case. She had a big bitch about me to the kids, some of the kids told me so i told the boss i didnt appreciate it. She then told the boss i wasnt doing my fair share of the science work (we shared a class i did 5 classes a fortnight she did 3) made up all the crap that wasnt true (all this was one to shift the focus from what she had done to what i hadnt done, and to make me loose my job, which wouldnt have happened). In the end the boss realised the truth and the next day she was spoken to. She left half way through period 1 crying and just went home, after that she was as nice as pie to me. She then shifted her focus to another teacher and retrained in all the stuff he taught, he had a knee operation, and before returning to work a car accident which extended his absence, during this time she took all his classes which he never got back, in the end he was suddenly moved out.

It just goes to show people will do anything to get what they want. Matt
