    Costly Rescue

Earned some more karma points this arvo.
Pulled a ford out of a steep ditch. Down side is I cut halfway through my snatch strap.
Local police were very nice through it all and once it was obvious the winch wasn't going to work without blocking the road. Decided to go the snatch with the cop closing one side of the road. He even then helped me free the exhaust and tie the bits up so the woman could drive it to the garage.

As always most people just drive by and stared. I was the first to stop and help. other than the police.

Certainly need more people who just help. Unfortunatly some people that you try to help will bit you back. I still recon that a slab of beer covers any cost and is always an appropriate thank you.

Didn't ask for payment and I didn't say anything about the damage. I read it as the rule I offered to use my gear so I wear the cost. Should have felt around to check there were no sharp bits.
