Nice photos mate, glad to see you're on the lookout for more landies hahaha
Hi all for those who don't know i am on my honey moon over in WA atm I am stuck in a hotel in Perth tonight with internet access thanks to Sky West (very long story)
anyway while i was in Coral Bay I came across 3 Land Rovers
The 1st Landy i found up near the Naval Base near a boat ramp.... at 1st it didn't seem like much but then i noticed a LROCV sticker on the back!! You can see it on the low res pic but its 1995 to 1996 sticker. Out of nowhere the owner came over and told me all about it (as most landy owners do) and he told me the owners name. which I will contact when i get back.
For the older members this LR has a Nissan 5 speed truck gearbox in it that might give it away 8)
OK for Landy number 2 i found this one tucked away at the local air strip no rego..... I think someone was a sleep in it :?
then number 3 greeted me every morning as it was parked at the 'resort' we stayed at in Coral Bay....well that what the sign said 8)
I am pretty sure the guy who owned the D3 ran fishing tour business and it was the nicest car in Coral Bay by a long shot!!
Before i left Melb i purchased a new Digi camera it's the Olympus 770 (you know the one with the dog chewing on it) anyway the model i got is water proof to 10 mtrs!!
On a quad bike tour we did i tested it 3 mtrs and came across this fellow.....
anyway off to bed flying to Broome in the morning.
Mick

you lucky bugger, I love Coral bay. Got to be one of the best places in WA.
Wish I was there now.
Did you have breky at the cafe next door to the swimsuit shop? they do a nice fry-up.
When we were there someone was getting married on the beach all the shops closed to go and watch., (all, well ok, 4 or 5 or however many there are).
I would have liked to take my rangie up with us but fuel would have been twice the price and the AC isn't great.
hmmm it might have been worth it thought, maybe next time
I am envious, Coral Bay is one of the few places in WA I haven't been yet.
Nice photos, I love the Turtle shot![]()
This is the Land Rover i saw in Coral Bay
They had been there all night keeping the water away from it. I asked them if it went alright though the night. They replied it came close as they neerly ran out of beer. The car drove out on its own 5 mins after this pic was taken

I would imagine the locals wouldn't have been too happy!
We did a quad bike tour and we were the only ones on it! The tour guide took us to parts of the beach that many dont see as big groups would get stuck and chew it all up. He took us up one sand dune that was steeper then Big Red at Robe not as long but just as steep! I had to have 2 go's at as the hire bike have been de tuned and i didn't have my leatherman on mebut a 50 mtr run up did the trick!!
Coral Bay as a destination is fantastic! Kim and I tried to drive the whole cape but we were stopped at the parks office as the river was up and our hire car apparently wouldnt have made it (but she dosnt know hire cars go further then most cars) so unless you are fully equipped don't bother. Just drive Learmonth (air port) to Exmouth (things are a little cheaper) then do the almost 2hr drive to Coral Bay.
anyway must repack and eat off to broome
