    Im now a grader driver

    Hi Guys
Finally got my first go on the grader, got sent out on the new Vulva(Volvo) to grade a 2km section and learn.
I couldnt belive how easy it was,I moved all the blade controls then into it.Everything worked for me,no looking at the pictures on the levers, just adjust as needed.
When I was finished I called the leading hand up(knowing I had blitzed it)and asked him to drive it in his ute.He was gobsmacked, couldnt belive I had done such a good job without any prior experience, much better job than the other grader boy who has been learning for 8 months!!!!.
I just rang Fat Baz to tell him how well it all went,he reckons if it happend for me like that Im set as thats how it happend for him(He is a top operator after 18 months).
Anyway Im rapt,I thought I had a huge challenge to take it on,got a lot to learn but nowhere near as hard as I expected.

    Hi there

Its one of the trade deficiency within the mining industry - and that is grader drivers stick with it.

    Nice one Andrew.

I remeber the first time I drove a combine.....I thought "Oh ****e" look at all those controls.......it was too easy. A speed controller and a joy stick, with a couple other knobs for the header height etc.

The box (Fridge) next to the seat was easy to work out......it's for the beer on the night shift!

    BTW I'm not a farmer...I just know a couple.
    Cheers

You can call yourself a grader driver when you can do final trim to a tolerance of + or - 3mm. I can't.
