Where is Xanadu?
Andrew
The beach there is generally referred to a Stockyards.
It's around Wiley Bay, about one-third to half way to Cape Le Grande.
You can drive down the beach or you can go down Merivale Road and access via Xanadu (which is trail riding place).
Good place for Salmon (and the odd mulloway) when they are running!
Jamo,
Dont know if we are talking about the same place. The one we know as Xanadu is about 2/3 - 3/4 of the way to Cape Le Grand, The one I have heard refered to as Stockyards is about 1/3 as you have said and is a flat partially grassed area. Have both marked on the GPS. Lots of wild horses around that area. as usual many spots have different names depending on you hear it from.
You guys on for Fri night??
May have to try and get to Plum Pudding again. I think I know a way around if beach access is a problem.
Yes, the name thing here does make it hard sometimes to find the right place. I still get confused when people start numbering the beaches and Wylie Bay has about five different names, depending on who you talk to!
I'll download the tide charts and ask around about the state of the beaches.
I gave the winch the once over on the weekend (mainly to see if it still worked) so, we should be all set!:D
Hey Craig
What time suits you and Mel fri nite???

Chance of thunderstorms thru the Great Southern in the arvo, coming down from the north.
A good deluge on that gravel road you want to take will keep the dust down a bit;) ;) ;) ;)
Perhaps MR Frenchie can supply us with our own personal weather forecast for the trip.
