    I still maintain that imported LRs were not speccd for the strong, hot Australian sunlight or they may have lasted longer.

    Shirley, the adhesives & padding materials were available in '94 that resisted heat & UV in Oz.
    Did they simply use the same ones as used on Home Market vehicles? It's not as though LR didn't have previous experience with our conditions since 1949.

    Aaahhh right. Probably stuck down with animal protein Old Brown Glue & Daylight Saving/hole in the Ozone would account for the excess sunlight then.
