Elisabeth sent Pebble a photo of her watch screen. They have shipped a replacement watch. We didn't need the receipt. Very good service.![]()

Ron, I know exactly how you feel....
Seems that the 'urethane' material has a limited life, being, well, cheap & nasty as well as 'normal behaviour' (?) for this material to decay...
Storing indoors, unopened and in their shoe-box in your wardrobe is the worst possible treatment and you'd be lucky to get a few years..
Wear & tear has no effect and may even stave off the evil day of corruption, but 'death' is inevitable...
I first came across this with a pair of Oliver work-boots. Most comfortable boots I've owned... but started to hear/feel stickiness when walking on polished surfaces. Eventually started leaving bits of black stuff behind...then became slimy. Nope, did'nt keep receipt. Some time later a salesman let on that this had been a problem for a while.
I'd left these in their box/down the shed for year after purchase...
Two pairs of my Rivers - brand dress shoes went off. The soles cracked through (eventually) mainly at the 'crease' line.
Tragedy is, the leather upper and inners are quite good quality and were very comfortable to wear.
This time, didn't bother with non-existant receipts... took them to a bespoke Bootery in Fremantle (Yes Virginia, there are such people.) and the cobbler- Bodkins very kindly re-soled them both for $200.![]()
- With a longer-lasting, obviously top-quality rubbery stuff. Comfortable to walk on and looks like a bought one (or two...)
For a few dollars more... I could have had leather, but he suggested that since they were'nt designed for stitched leather soles, I'd be better off with 'rubbery stuff'... especially as I planned on a thin rubber under the leather anyway! (My ballroom dancing days are long in the past... need grip these days...)
Shoes were bought at Rivers sales, around $50 from memory, so $300 total is... a bit ouchy but... I'm a card-carrying 'Hoarder'...
Then, last night on evilBay, I find Julius Marlow (remember them?) for less than $90.
I comfort myself with the thought that now I have enough dress/work shoes to last me for decades.
(of course I bought the JM's - did you think I could resist ?)
Pic is a bit decpetive, the fill-in flash makes them look worn-out.
A couple of days ago, I went to use the windscreen mount for my Nanocom for the first time.
When I moved the suction cap lever over, it snapped off.![]()

Are you using RAM mounts? Having used them for the last few years I believe they may indeed be fairly Ron-proof.![]()
No, I was going to use the one that came with the Nanocom. I have a RAM mount for my phone on my bike.

Elisabeth bought me a wearable sleeping bag for Xmas - one looks like a polar explorer with it on.
The first time I tried it, one of the zipper pull tags snapped off. It's a tad hard to close up now.![]()
