My favourite shop in the world is the bolt shop. Where a person will spend half an hour looking for a tiny bag of nuts/bolts/washers for you and charge you $3.2. Mean while that tiny bag of hardware would be $28 at hammerbarn once you'd find them. The blister pack tax.

My "local" bolt shop is 40km away and considerably more expensive than the big green shed.
The bliter pack tax is more than compensated by the who uses imperial discount.

A few weeks ago I ordered a radiator hose online for my brother's car. The first site I visited had the decency to say it would be on back order, the second one didn't so it took weeks to arrive.

I headed back inside with 3 year old in tow and was politely told "Don't worry about it, not worth our time".
That's a good wheeze. Why didn't I think of that?

My local bolt shops (2) are closer than my local hammerbarns ( also 2). Thing is, the bolt shop mob know what they are doing, and most of the stuff I want is not available in a blister pack. Both bolt shops have the (dis?) advantage of being near the tool shops. Oh wait, one tool shop has moved, to opposite the hammerbarn as it happens. Nevermind, the other one is near TWO tool shops. AND a hammerbarn... Spoilt for choice, me.
