Thanks UncleHo, ill do that with the fuel filter. Um yeah it moves down to that point behind the grill, by the manual you are suposed to check the oil level there, i took a look and remembered Dave offering some help so i thought i could watch him one day and see how its done
.
Mate we are real happy with her, i will have a heap of things to do, like i have to get a rubber seal to go between the canopy and body, the drivers door latch does not return the door latch fully and if you dont check it before you drive away and the first left corner the door fly's open on you
, I pulled the dash apart today to check the light switch and when i put it back the speedo doesnt work so i pulled it out again and ?????? i cant see anything rong, the only thing i can think is the cable is out at the gear box, so ill check that end when i can.

G'day MarknDeb
That is the Relay that sits just behind the grille, the upper and lower relay arms are held on to the splined relay shaft by a pinch bolt, just check that they are both tight, you should be able to get to the upper one by removing the plastic grille, and the lower one from underneath, have someone move the steering wheel, and from under the vehicle you should see the shaft move and lever move, if the shaft moves it is the lever that is loose or the splines are stripped, the speedo cable on Series 3's have a plastic upper clip, and these frequently snap the little clip off and the speedo cable drops off the speedo head, They are about $20 something from memory.
Was this car at M R autos recently?? as I was down there a couple of weeks ago and one very similar was out the back.
cheers
