i have a full set of lifting gear, an aframe over head beam setup but usually I lift motors into trailers by laying them on a movers trolly (get one from supercheap for <$30 tying them on then (with a helper) tipping the trailer up after un hitching it, laying the trolly onto the bed, leveling the trailer and then just pulling the engine upright, secure the trolly once vertical...

Of course IF i have the aframes up from lifitng the engine out i just use the block and tackle or the chain block after reversing the trailer under.

If its in the local area and can wait till my trailers empty (after sunday) Im happy to help out where I can.

May be a bit late posting this.
Make up a set of sheer legs. That is, 2 equal lengths of sturdy galv pipe, with a hole bored through one end each to take a big shackle. Attach 2 rope work block and tackle sets to this end. In effect you make an A frame. The whole set is easily transportable, the bottoms of the legs, are set in the front corners of a trailer, one block and tackle is fixed to the trailer draw bar, and raises and lowers the sheer leg. The other block and tackle is the lifting set. This will also work for the back of a ute or tray topper. Can be used in a shed, can be used under a tree, can be used anywhere the sheer legs can be secured, and the sheer head tackle can be fixed. If you need to traverse or swing, just use one leg, as an old fashioned cargo ship derrick. The head tackle just has to be fixed higher up to help control the swing of the derrick boom, as this is what the single leg becomes.

Good old fashioned Admiralty Pattern Seamanship. A stick or two, and a piece of string or two. A squad of sailors under a well trained officer, can shift the moon.

    Damn.

I've just gone and given myself a new project for my nice big shed.

    Shorty.
