At a guess I would say the first one is a 109" ute, which where made around 1957-8, and the one in the second picture is a pre 1952 80".

That ute looks like it needs rescuing. I love the grass growing up inside the windows. The shorty has the park lights on the bulkhead so it would be a very early one.Do i sense someone having a new project??? I would love to get my hands on a series one wagon one day.

Nice looking ute and well worth saving.
The 80" isn't a real early one as it has the wider front springs (fixed at the front, shackles at the rear as with all later Series vehicles). I think the change occurred in late '50 so it's probably a '51 model - originally would have the the full grill with the headlight cutouts or 'headlights through the grill' version. The early 80" Land Rovers have narrow front springs fixed at the rear and shackes at the front - similar to WW2 Jeeps.
