Make sure it's not one of the LR genuine nudge bars that your using as a recover point. They're as weak as p1ss.
Even if the bar is OK, check the bolts it's secured with. Sometimes the original bumper bolts are used to fit it.

yeh i think it is one of the original bars.... okay then, just dont use the front of my car, sorted. cheers for the heads up!
I appreciate that. My post was directed to the comments he made that sounded like he was a newbie in a stock car with highway terrain tyres. Now that area may be OK, I don't know it, but where to next?
I have encounted others in difficulty without recovery points - they put themselves and others at risk. fortunately Lincoln has started right and has some recovery gear.
Hey stinky disco the Blue mountains and beyond are exellent
If you just beginning try the black fellows hand track out the back of the zig zag. you can do a loop to newens and back, then try a few tougher tracks off the old bells line road. then do the track under the power lines. your disco will be ok just stick the wheels in the right place. I once took a stock sierra to the top of mount walker with a little help and a lot less metal. I can send you a bread crumb trail from ozie topo maps if you are interested.
zigzag is still open AFAIK Slunnie, all that crap fell through from what i heard.
As for the tracks there are heaps on zigzag and there are tracks to cater for everyone, the "powerline" track is still doable in a standard 4wd but is getting pretty washed out now.
If you want mate therer is a BBQ at my place on the june long weekend if you are interested, we wont be doing zig zag but thats easy to find your way around if you dont know it, just head up and explore. We will be doing some other tracks though so you will get to test the truck and all are suitable for a standard disco. Matt

Mt walker is good, was there yesterday, he can follow us on the long weekend if he makes it, we will be going back. Not sure a stock zook would make it up now its pretty rocky and chewed up, might with the right line selection. A stock disco will go up, well not quite stock had a 2in lift and muddies, ask Discodave. We busted a GU Traytops rear axle on it yesterday. Matt
